It’s time for the LPIN to Level Up!

The LPIN 2022 convention will be held March 4th – 6th in Fishers, IN at the Forum Event Center. The focus of this year’s convention will be candidate nominations  and leadership training. * We will be observing mask and social distancing requirements per City of Fishers guidelines to ensure the safety of our attendees, staff, and volunteers. Virtual options are available for those at risk or who choose not to attend in person.

Saturday, March 5th

Check-In: 7am – 12:30pm 7am Coffee & Donuts w/ the Chair: 7am – 8am TBA Training Sessions: 8am – 11am Starting at 8 am we will be offering training classes. Classes will last approximately an hour giving attendees the opportunity to attend up to 3 separate classes before breaking for lunch. Course Descriptions:

Lunch: 11am – 1pm Lunch will not be provided this year, but there are many options for dining that are in very close proximity to the venue and the hotel. We highly recommend attendees use this time for break-out sessions and networking, like district and county meetings for example. Business Meeting: 1pm – 5pm

  4. Reading and Approval of the Minutes of the 2021 Annual Business Meeting.
  5. Adoption of Rules for the Annual Business Meeting.
  6. Adoption of an Agenda for the Annual Business Meeting.
  7. Financial Report & Statement of Business Conducted by the State Central Committee.
  8. Selection of Award recipients.
  9. Chairman’s Address.
  10. LNC Update.
  11. Reports of Committees.
  12. Nomination of Candidates.
  13. Announcement of 2022 SCC District Representatives and new SCC Districts.
  14. Election of Delegates to National Convention.
  15. Amendments to the Bylaws and Standing Rules.

Rule 1: Proposed amendments to the bylaws will be discussed in the order set by vote of the SCC for all proposed amendments that were received by the Bylaws Committee by the deadline.  A motion with a second must be raised on the floor to bring each proposed amendment to the floor. The delegate sponsoring the proposed amendment will be given one minute to speak on behalf of the amendment.  The floor will then be open to discussion by the delegates. Each delegate will have one minute to speak on the proposed amendment. The first delegate recognized must be in opposition to the proposed amendment unless no delegate in opposition asks to be recognized. Rule 2: Order and procedure of nominations for Candidates (Speakers wishing to speak on behalf of NOTA must inform the Chairman of such prior to the close of nominations for each race):

STATEWIDE Contested: Total of 10 minutes for each candidate and nominator(s). Uncontested: Total of 5 minutes for each candidate and nominator(s). NOTA: Total of 5 minutes for all speakers. CONGRESSIONAL Contested: Total of 5 minutes for each candidate and nominator(s). Uncontested: Total of 2 minutes for each candidate and nominator(s). NOTA: Total of 2 minutes for all speakers. LEGISLATURE Contested: Total of 2 minutes for each candidate and nominator(s). Uncontested: Total of 1 minutes for each candidate and nominator(s). NOTA: Total of 1 minutes for all speakers. LOCAL UNAFFILIATED COUNTIES Contested: Total of 5 minutes for each candidate and nominator(s). Uncontested: Total of 2 minutes for each candidate and nominator(s). Awards Dinner: 6pm SPEAKER TBA will be the keynote speaker. Speaker will be discussing TBA. The Saturday Night Awards Dinner will begin at 6 pm. Dinner will be a buffet style and the menu includes; TBA. A cash bar will be available. Socializer: 5pm to 12am TBA

Sunday, March 6th

1994 Society Breakfast: 9am The 1994 Society breakfast will be at TBA on Sunday morning beginning at 9:00 am. Seating for the breakfast is limited to 65 people. It will include a speech from GUEST TBA and a discussion with LPIN Chair Evan McMahon regarding the LPIN Plan for 2022 Elections and beyond. The speech will be recorded and posted and a link sent to all current 1994 Society Members. SCC Meeting: 1pm – 5pm TBA

2022 LPIN Award Nominations

Nominate Your Favorite Libertarian Activist: Awards given to Libertarians who have gone above and beyond the normal activism. To be voted on by the delegates, and presented at the LPIN State Convention Banquet. See past winners Nomination Deadline: February 18th, 2022 Dr. Barbara Bourland Light of Liberty Award: The recipient is honored as the person most responsible for growth of the party and dedication to the libertarian cause. Susan Bell Officeholder of the Year Award: Awarded to a current elected officeholder from the Libertarian party who best promotes libertarian principles and values through public service. Ken Bisson Outreach Award: Awarded to a party member who has worked exceptionally hard to spread the message of libertarian principles to as many potential voters as possible. Joe Hauptmann Campaign Leadership Award: Awarded to a campaign volunteer who has worked above and beyond in an extraordinary fashion, and contributed significantly to the success of a campaign. Phil Miller Candidate of the Year: Awarded to a Libertarian candidate who has shown an extraordinary ability to reach out to and connect with voters, as well as to further the cause of libertarianism. COVID-19 Safety Information

* While we do not expect the same or similar restrictions, as were imposed by the Fishers Health Department for the 2021 Convention, we are making this information available in the event restrictions are reinstated by the Governor or the local government. Safety Protocols: (2021) (This was our 2021 approved safety plan and the Fishers Health Department requirements):

  1. Mask usage is required–no exceptions. You will be required to wear a mask unless you are actively seated at your dining table. If you feel you are unable to comply with this mandate, there is a virtual option to attend the convention remotely. We will have staff circulating in the event to ensure compliance. Masks will be available at the door if you do not have one with you.
  2. There will be a temperature check upon admission- anyone with a fever above 99.8 will be asked to leave the in-person event and attend virtually. Your contact information will be retained by the LPIN for contact tracing only should it become necessary due to a confirmed case of COVID-19 at the event.
  3. Social distancing will be observed during the entire event as much as possible, again, staff will be enforcing this as much as possible.
  4. Please be advised that if we fail to meet these requirements they may shut down our event at this venue and there may be consequences for the venue as well.

Priority access for registered attendees: In-person seating for this event may be limited due to local government restrictions. In the event of local restrictions, priority seating will be granted to those that have purchased in-person packages. Paid participants are seated as a first priority. Late-arrivals, or those not pre-registered, may be turned away at the event venue and asked to participate virtually if the venue is at our approved capacity. Virtual options- Attend from the comfort and Safety of your home: This year’s convention will also have the option to attend virtually via a registered Zoom link. Pre-registered Delegates and Paid virtual package holders will receive information via email on how to log into their events with Zoom. There are two options available for virtual participation:

  • The $100 Virtual Complete package registers you for remote participation in all weekend events with virtual options available, such as the Friday night panel and Saturday morning training events.
  • There is also a Free Business Meeting Only (remote) option so delegates can participate in the business meeting via Zoom without attending in person.
